Homemade Fresh Peach Ice Cream

Last month we were in Valdosta, Georgia visiting with my husband’s parents. During our visit my father-in-law took me to a peach orchard where their specialty was their fresh peach ice cream. What makes this ice cream so special is the quality of ingredients they use. They use fresh cream, peaches from their orchard and sugar. Even though I usually stay away from dairy I couldn’t not enjoy this treat my father-in-law wanted to share with me. It was a very smooth ice cream with a fresh peach flavor. It was a perfect treat for the hot Georgia weather. Well today at home it is equally hot and humid outside. I wanted a refreshing afternoon treat for my kids. So I took some of my peaches from Beechwood Orchards and some bananas to make a creamy ice cream that even my father-in-law in Georgia would love. However, this version has none of the sugar or dairy to hold back your journey to vibrant health nor the calories. It does have all the texture and flavor that we all crave in our ice cream on a hot day. Really, it’s that good especially if you use good quality peaches and bananas.
