Love is abundant, never ending, freely given, always present from the universe. True love exists only for oneself and comes only from within.

Self Nourishing Relationships

As spiritual beings having a human experience we crave deep connection with others, romantic or otherwise. On a romantic level, we strive for a loving connection and partnership with another person (in some cases multiple people) on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. In other relationships we strive to find a tribe to belong to, people with similar interests that can support us in the various ways we like to live out our days. Overall, we want to share our time, enjoy what life has to offer, give and receive support and be one another’s witnesses to our existence in the world.

Relationships have complexities and nuances that can be tricky and difficult to maneuver, understand, and navigate. They bring together people with different histories, backgrounds, personalities, love languages, insecurities, shadow beliefs and experiences which can lead to a giant mess of emotions and feelings. And with each new relationship we bring our past experiences or wounds which can set the relationship up to fail if we are not careful, unaware or haven’t learned our lessons.

Majority of us have a long list of romantic and platonic relationship successes and failures, sometimes epic failures. There is a wide range of variables to the outcome, length and enjoyment in all these relationship. And at the same time, when we begin to dive deep into our relationship history each of us can discover a defining theme in the failures and the successes. And each relationship, good or bad, teach us something important about ourselves and about the way we show up in relationships over all. These lessons are key in the success and happiness of future relationships which is ultimately what we desire if we crave being in a healthy one. A healthy and loving relationship that is based on kindness, understanding, empathy, compassion, forgiveness, appreciation, friendship and love.

True Love begins with you. . .

Love is abundant, always present and endlessly giving. At times we do not believe or can’t see this being true in anyway. The secret is understanding that we can only accept and receive love when we fully and completely give the love we desire to ourselves first and above all others. We only have the capacity to accept and receive love from outside of us when we truly love and accept ourselves in spite of other’s capacity to give love. We much be real, authentic, fully accepting and honest with ourselves if we are to receive this from any other source.

Remember that the one person who is always by your side through the good and the bad of life’s journey is you and only you.  The one person who knows you and accepts you fully just as you are. The one person who has seen you at your best and at your worst and still stuck around. The one person who is always the constant in your life through the ups and downs, always forgiving, understanding, empathetic, compassionate, loving and kind even after the ugly times where mistakes were made and they were not treated well. The one person you want to be with every moment and love with everything you are, is you. You are the TRUE LOVE of your life!

When you can not give this TRUE LOVE to yourself, you will be unable to truly accept, receive or have the capacity to hold onto love from another. How could anyone love you when you do not love yourself in the same way? Giving and giving more to another person doesn’t mean you will receive the same, rather it will leave you empty and never satisfied. Like a drug addict always needing more for the same fix they started with, hence relationships start strong then fizzle over time. External approval, love appreciation is nothing you ever need to desire or chase because it always exists and never ending within you for you.

When you love yourself, you not need external validation of love or attention from anyone outside of you.  This is the ultimate meaning of true love.  You will find when you love yourself, love will flow even more because the universe will know you are ready to receive. Strangers, friends, family, children, and others will gravitate towards your inner light of self-love because it will shine bright. Be ready to have gratitude and appreciate the love from external sources and at the same time know it only exists because of the internal love within yourself for yourself.
